By using islandpreservationgroup.com, submitting a form, or using one of our tools, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site.

These terms govern your use of the website. Work we actually perform on your property is governed by the written quote and service agreement you sign — if anything in that agreement conflicts with this page, the signed agreement wins.

Who we are

This site is operated by Island Preservation Group, a property preservation company serving Vancouver Island, BC, Canada. You can reach us at info@islandpreservationgroup.com.

Assessments, quotes, and work

Requesting an assessment through this site is a request, not a booking. We will contact you to confirm availability and arrange a time. Submitting a form does not create a contract between us, and does not obligate either of us to proceed.

Any price we discuss before inspecting your property is an estimate. Final pricing depends on what we find on site — roof condition, access, safety considerations, square footage, and the scope you approve. A quote becomes binding only when it is in writing and accepted by both of us.

We may decline work, including where a property is unsafe to access, where preservation is not the right recommendation, or where the condition falls outside what our services can responsibly address. Where preservation is not in your interest, we will tell you so.

Calculators and estimating tools

Our roof life calculator, replacement-cost calculator, and any similar tools on this site produce rough estimates for general information only. They are not quotes, appraisals, inspections, or professional advice, and nothing they output is an offer to perform work at a stated price.

These tools work from typical values and the handful of inputs you provide. They cannot see your roof. Real figures depend on materials, workmanship, installation quality, ventilation, tree cover, exposure, maintenance history, and local market pricing — none of which a web form can assess. Results can differ substantially from actual costs and actual remaining service life.

Do not rely on these outputs for financial planning, insurance decisions, real-estate transactions, or budgeting without an on-site assessment by a qualified person.

Website content and guides

Our Learning Centre articles and other educational content are general information about property maintenance on the coast. They are not professional advice for your specific property, and following them does not guarantee any particular result. Conditions vary — when in doubt, have someone qualified look at it.

We work to keep content accurate and current, but we do not warrant that everything on this site is complete, current, or error-free.

Memberships and monitoring plans

Membership and property-monitoring plans described on this site are summaries. The services included, visit frequency, pricing, term, renewal, and cancellation rights are set out in the plan agreement you receive before enrolling. Plan features and pricing may change; changes do not apply to a term you have already paid for.

Referral and partner program

If you participate in our referral or partner program, referral credit is attributed through the unique link or code issued to you. Credit is earned only on work that is completed and paid for, and we reserve the right to withhold credit for referrals that are self-dealing, duplicated, obtained through spam or misrepresentation, or that a customer disputes. We may change or end the program, though we will honour credit already earned.

Communications

When you submit a request, you agree we may contact you about it by email or phone. Marketing email is sent only with your consent, always identifies us, and always carries a working unsubscribe link. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle your information and how to opt out.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Submit false, misleading, or someone else’s information through our forms
• Request assessments for properties you have no connection to or authority over
• Scrape, harvest, or bulk-download this site’s content, or attempt to access parts of our systems you are not authorised to use
• Interfere with the site’s operation, security, or availability
• Use the site for anything unlawful

We may suspend access where we reasonably believe these terms are being abused.

Intellectual property

The content on this site — text, photography, guides, calculators, design, and the Island Preservation Group name and marks — belongs to us or our licensors and is protected by copyright and trademark law. You may view, share, and print it for your own non-commercial use. Republishing, reselling, or using it to build a competing service is not permitted without our written consent.

Project photographs show our own work. Anything you send us — a message, a photo of your roof, feedback — you keep, but you give us permission to use it for the purpose you sent it for.

Third-party links and services

This site may link to other websites and relies on third-party infrastructure. We do not control those sites or services and are not responsible for their content, availability, or privacy practices.

Disclaimers

The website and its tools are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

This section is about the website. It does not limit any warranty we give in a signed service agreement for work performed on your property, and it does not affect statutory rights you have as a consumer under British Columbia law that cannot be waived.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Island Preservation Group is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, or data, arising from your use of this website or reliance on its estimating tools or educational content.

Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability arising from your use of this website is limited to CAD $100.

Nothing here excludes liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia, Canada, and the courts of British Columbia have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as our services change. The current version always appears on this page with its “last updated” date. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
